Date: Thursday, July 30, 2026 At The Salvation Army Center of Hope, we are committed to helping children and families prepare for a successful school year. With your volunteer group's help, we will be organizing school supplies and assembling backpacks for children staying at our shelter before they return to school. This project will ensure that each child receives a backpack filled with the essential supplies they need to begin the school year feeling prepared and confident. Your time and effort will make a meaningful difference by helping provide children with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and start the school year with encouragement and hope. Volunteers at our Clothing Closet will assist with organizing, sorting, and hanging donated clothes, ensuring that our clients have access to essential items with dignity and care. Your support helps us provide a welcoming and organized space where individuals can find the clothing they need to thrive. Volunteer Requirements:Volunteers must be 8 or older. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of 10 volunteers per shift. Where To Sign In:Volunteers should ring the bell at the front entrance to report for their shift. Volunteer: Host a Community Partner Event or WorkshopWe welcome community partners, colleges, agencies, and organizations who are interested in hosting an event, workshop, presentation, or service activity at the Center of Hope. After creating an account and signing up through our volunteer portal, you will receive an automated email with a link to a Google Form under additional information. This form must be completed for your request to be considered. The form is reviewed by our Social Services Director, who will follow up directly regarding next steps. Thank you for your interest in partnering with The Salvation Army of Augusta and supporting our mission.
