Back-to-School Backpack Service Project

About the Project
At The Salvation Army Center of Hope, we are committed to helping children and families prepare for a successful school year. With your volunteer group's help, we will be organizing school supplies and assembling backpacks for children staying at our shelter before they return to school.
This project will ensure that each child receives a backpack filled with the essential supplies they need to begin the school year feeling prepared and confident. Your time and effort will make a meaningful difference by helping provide children with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and start the school year with encouragement and hope.
Volunteer Duties
- Arrive by 10:00 AM ready to work indoors.
- Sort and organize donated school supplies.
- Fill backpacks with age-appropriate school supplies.
- Organize completed backpacks for distribution to children staying at the shelter.
- Work together to ensure each backpack is complete and ready for the upcoming school year.
What to Wear and Bring
- Comfortable clothing appropriate for indoor volunteer work.
- Closed-toe shoes.
- A bottle of water to stay hydrated.
- A positive attitude and willingness to serve.
